Mario and Sonic: together at last!

Lumme, who’d have thought we’d see the day when Nintendo and Sega teamed up to make a joint Mario and Sonic game? It’s called Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games, and will be out before Christmas for Wii and DS.

Mario and Sonic: together at last! Sega is publishing the game in Europe and North America, while Nintendo will handle Japan. The game will see Mario and Sonic competing in various Olympic events, including sprinting, swimming and table tennis.

What’s more, there’ll be a full cast of supporting characters, including Luigi, Knuckles, Yoshi and Tails. Does Tails have to be in it? There’s still time to boot him out, Sega.

Mario and Sonic: together at last! “Mario and Sonic have been respectful rivals since the early days of video games,” says Shigsy Miyamoto. “Now that they have been given the perfect opportunity to meet at the Olympic Games, we may finally learn who is actually faster, Mario or Sonic?”
